About Us
Rooted in Culture. United by Heart. Growing Together in Montréal.
Montréal Marathi Mandal (MMM) is a non-profit cultural organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Maharashtra in the vibrant multicultural landscape of Montréal, Quebec.
Established by passionate Marathi families, MMM has grown into a warm and inclusive community that celebrates language, festivals, traditions, and togetherness. From festive gatherings to cultural performances, educational programs to social networking events – we bring people together through shared values and collective joy.

Our Story
Every beautiful journey begins with a shared dream.
The story of Montreal Marathi Mandal (MMM) began not in a boardroom, but in the living rooms of a few Marathi families who missed the vibrant colors of Ganesh Utsav, the joyous voices of Diwali faral, and the comforting sound of their mother tongue. Far from the familiar lanes of Maharashtra, they envisioned a community where traditions would thrive, laughter would echo, and future generations could proudly say – "Ho, aamhi Marathi!"
What started as small gatherings of like-minded individuals has now blossomed into a thriving cultural family, bound by common roots and a common purpose. Over the years, we’ve celebrated festivals with grandeur, hosted artists with pride, guided newcomers with warmth, and raised the voices of our children in Marathi songs and stories.
But our journey is more than just events –
It is about preserving identity in a foreign land,
nurturing belonging in every heart,
and building a legacy where culture meets community.
We’ve seen toddlers take their first dance steps on our stage.
We’ve seen elders tear up with joy listening to familiar bhavgeet.
We’ve seen strangers become lifelong friends over a shared meal.
Today, Montreal Marathi Mandal stands as a symbol of unity, tradition, and hope.
As we welcome new families every year, we are reminded that our mission is not complete — it's only evolving. With every member who joins us, we take a step toward a brighter, more connected future, where culture is not just remembered but celebrated, lived, and passed on with pride.
